Strong connections between our Department and the citizens we serve have always been very important to us. They are also the primary reason for the success of our Community Policing efforts here in New Bern thus far.
We want to build on these efforts and encourage your participation as New Bern grows year after year. Thats why this web site provides you with a variety of information on how our Department works, its outstanding personnel, and a number of community based programs to get you and your family involved.
We host a Citizens Police Academy to educate residents about the inner workings of our Department. Furthermore, our officers are very active in neighborhood watch groups and hold board positions in numerous civic and business organizations. However, quality community programs arent just limited to adults. New Bern police officers operate a Summer Day Camp, as well as the award-winning Young Marines program.
